Barron’s Assembles an Elite Group of Financial Advisors

By Ray Sclafani | September 6, 2012

Every year, the list of Barron’s Top 100 Financial Advisors offers a snapshot of some of the premier financial advisors in the nation. Published in an issue of Barron’s in mid-April, this group of successful financial advisors, accompanied by a select group of 400 advisors hand-picked by their firms, assembles for the Barron’s Winner’s Circle for Top Advisors Summit. This year’s Summit is scheduled for Sept. 12-14 in Orlando, Fla.

As the CEO and founder of ClientWise, the premier executive coaching firm for top performing financial advisors, our firm is honored by the fact that our clients, some of whom have appeared on the list more than once, continue to select us to act as a partner for them in their growth. I’ve also been entrusted by the Barron’s community to partner with them as a speaker and coach at many of their conferences.  In fact, ClientWise is the only executive coaching firm for financial advisors to be so honored.

Each year, Barron’s holds a number of conferences for Top Advisors, including Top Independent Advisors Summit, Top Advisory Teams Summit and Top Women Advisors Summit. These conferences are known for the high level of engagement and value that they deliver for advisors. Barron’s carefully selects the attendees for each of the conferences, and many of the sessions are hands-on sessions led by the elite financial advisors who appear on the lists. From my experience, these sessions offer unparalleled insights and superb networking opportunities for all of the advisors in attendance.

My topic:  “Seven Decisions for a Successful Future in Financial Services.”  For those of you who are attending the pre-conference, I will be discussing the potential challenges and implications of an industry that is poised on the precipice of great change. With markets, economies, politics, the industry and client expectations in flux like never before, the potential implications for teams and firms can be daunting. Top-performing financial advisory firms and teams will be challenged in ways most don’t expect and need to prepare amid a staggering amount of uncertainty. The significance of these coming changes for teams and firms has great import in terms of client acquisition and engagement, team development, creation of and demand for new services, marketing and business operations and financial performance. I plan to provide key insights and observations into how firms and the industry are likely to develop in the next five to ten years.

As I review the speakers and topics for this conference, the agenda looks to be loaded with engaging presentations. Of course, I always leave the conferences with thought-provoking insights, as well as many new connections that I’ve made from networking with the “best-of-the-best”. If you’re selected to attend any of these conferences in the future, I strongly encourage you to go. The Barron’s conferences offer unrivaled opportunities and perspectives for all who attend

I hope to see you there. (And if you're at the conference, please look me up!)
