Financial Advisors and Entrepreneurs: Global Entrepreneurship Week

By ClientWise | November 13, 2012

Financial advisors and entrepreneurs are a natural mix. The same traits that contribute to entrepreneurial success are the qualities that top-performing financial advisors possess:

  • Innovative
  • Strategic
  • Creative
  • Resourceful
  • Driven
  • Self-motivated
  • Outgoing
  • Committed

Indeed, for the most successful financial advisors, entrepreneurship is integral to their identity.

In this vein, ClientWise would like to spotlight Global Entrepreneurship Week, which spotlights a worldwide focus on entrepreneurship.

Global Entrepreneurship Week (GEW) is the brainchild of the Kauffman Foundation, which is the world’s largest foundation devoted to entrepreneurship. Founded by Kansas City-based entrepreneur, Ewing Kauffman, the Kauffman Foundation’s mission is to cultivate and foster both ends of the opportunity continuum with respect to innovation and risk-taking: education and entrepreneurship.

Throughout this week, 30,000 events will occur in 100 host countries, all intended to help foster a culture of enterprise, i.e. a culture that embraces innovation, imagination and creativity.

Underlying GEW is the belief that achieving an economy’s entrepreneurial potential requires the mobilization of every part of society. To do their part, entrepreneurs everywhere must act as role models for younger generations by sharing their stories, mentoring and encouragement.

As a premier business-coaching firm dedicated to serving financial advisors and the financial advisor community, ClientWise embraces the mission of Global Entrepreneurship Week. The fundamental values that GEW highlights are many of the same values that we hold in highest regard, and coach towards as well.

These values include:

  • Opportunity recognition
  • Creativity
  • Problem solving
  • Risk taking
  • Resourcefulness
  • Passion for ideas

Stay Tuned!

This week, we’ll post more blogs highlighting the natural affinity between entrepreneurialism and financial advisors. This will include ideas and observations with regard to: client acquisition, the entrepreneurial mindset, marketing, and more.
