Director of Valuation Services

Owen Dahl leads the ClientWise Valuation Services Team. He comes directly to ClientWise from Envestnet, where he held a special appointment as Subject Matter Expert to Valuations following Envestent’s acquisition of Truelyticcs Valuation Software in 2022. Owen developed much of the financial modeling that drove Truelytics software when he held Board and Technical roles with Truelytics, and as co-Founder and President of Gladtone Analytics where the software was initially incubated under Owen’s technical guidance.

Concurrent to co-founding Gladstone Analytics, Owen founded the Dahl Consulting Group, an economic consulting firm offering business valuation and litigation support services to select clients throughout the United States and Canada. Dahl continues to provide expert witness testimony on matters of Business Valuation, Lost Profits and Commercial Damages to Federal and State jurors and arbitration panels including FINRA.

Before leaving to start the Dahl Consulting Group in 2012, Owen was a Principal in the Valuation Services Group at Moss Adams LLP where he specialized in intellectual property appraisal and was partner-in-charge of overseeing valuations in the financial services industry. He chaired the firm BV Technical Committee from 2007 until his departure and served on the firm’s Health Care Practice Group Advisory Committee from 2006-2009. He received the Moss Adams Award for Technical Excellence in 2007.

Owen has been granted the designations of Chartered Financial Analyst from the CFA Institute, Licensed International Financial Analyst from the International Research Association, and Accredited Senior Appraiser from the American Society of Appraisers.

In 2006 with Mark Tibegien, Owen co-authored How to Value, Buy or Sell a Financial Advisory Practice, published by Bloomberg Press. The book is widely regarded as the industry treatise on valuing financial advisory practices.
